All Through the Eyes of a Loving Mother

Working as an interpreter can present many challenges, but it also had tons of benefits. I was able to work with tons of pregnant women, one in particular comes to mind. She was so beautiful, but her pregnancy was horrible. She developed horrible varicose veins on her legs and feet. She put on about 65 pound and was in extra large maternity clothes throughout her pregnancy. She had morning sickness throughout the whole pregnancy. Every doctors visit she would have a list of new complaints. I had the privilege of being present for the birth of her son as well, it was a relatively quick labor and delivery. She and her husband both cried and she had a beautiful baby. I saw her about 5 months later on her postpartum visit, she was lovely and thin and her baby was cute and playful. Being in interpreter is such a fulfilling job, because even though I have never been pregnant, I was able to see the pregnancy through the eyes of a mother.
