I personally think pregnancy is a lot of hard work and extremely stressful. I doubt I could cope. It is very demanding and can ultimately change your life. A close friend of mine recently had a baby and gave me a real insight into pregnancy. It has altered my perception as I had the idea that pregnancy was a simple process to go through. During the pregnancy she was pretty miserable as could no longer work full time. I used to come over each morning to go for our hourly walk. This was great as she was able to discuss any concerns. She'd look great in her grey maternity tights but she often complained of aches and pains.
When the baby was born she was extremely happy however she is often sleep deprived due to looking after the baby. She finds it hard to work as she is fatigued. I have offered to help with the baby once a week. I love looking after the baby. I often take the baby shopping with me to keep me company. When she doesn't cry she is beautiful. |

I've been to many botox clinics in Darlington, and in general I have a lot of experience with dentists in my area. My current dentist is a great guy. I love seeing him, he’s cool, and doesn’t hassle me to much about brushing and flossing. He knows I do a pretty good job of that and does not feel the need to enter into unnecessary conversations. His assistant however, well, that’s another story. When I am getting my cleaning, his assistant does it instead of my dentist. This woman literally does not stop talking. She gets so carried away with talking about her life that the cleaning goes on and on. She constantly stops her work so she can elaborate about inconsequential details about her life (such as why she does not invite so and so over anymore because he ate all her food, etc.). Meanwhile, all I want to do is get my teeth cleaned and go home. I believe that small talk is an alright pleasantry. However prolonged small talk is just torture. We all know about the weather. We all know that the Eagles lost again. Let’s move on. Why are we talking so much at the dentist? We all know we’re just there to get our teeth cleaned, receive our free toothbrush, and go home as soon as possible. Sorry Dr. Brown. You’re a great dentist, but I didn’t come here for small talk. |

Working as an interpreter can present many challenges, but it also had tons of benefits. I was able to work with tons of pregnant women, one in particular comes to mind. She was so beautiful, but her pregnancy was horrible. She developed horrible varicose veins on her legs and feet. She put on about 65 pound and was in extra large maternity clothes throughout her pregnancy. She had morning sickness throughout the whole pregnancy. Every doctors visit she would have a list of new complaints. I had the privilege of being present for the birth of her son as well, it was a relatively quick labor and delivery. She and her husband both cried and she had a beautiful baby. I saw her about 5 months later on her postpartum visit, she was lovely and thin and her baby was cute and playful. Being in interpreter is such a fulfilling job, because even though I have never been pregnant, I was able to see the pregnancy through the eyes of a mother. |
