Pay Per Click and the use of adwords management are very popular marketing technique to drive Internet traffic to a website. The company that owns the website will pay another company, usually a search engine, for each user that clicks on a link to be taken to the website. Pay Per Click is one of the original Internet marketing models.
When a company begins a Pay Per Click marketing campaign, they normally provide a list of keywords to the company that offers the service. They would like users interested in these terms. Most companies that provide Pay Per Click services are search engines. When someone searches on the keyword, the search engine shows a link to the company’s site. If the user of the search engine clicks on the link, the search engine charges the company.
The cost of Pay Per Click services may vary. Pay Per Click services usually are only a few cents per click. Some actually allow their customers to bid on how much they will pay for a click. In these cases companies that use Pay Per Click services determine how much they will pay for a click and how much money they can spend on the advertising campaign. The company that provides the Pay Per Click service will fulfill the higher priced customers first. This ensures that the customer that bids the highest price is guaranteed to receive traffic. But customers with lower bids, could get the same amount for less.
Pay Per Click marketing campaigns are popular for many reasons. There is no minimum dollar amount to start a Pay Per Click campaign. Companies can determine exactly how many users visited your site due to the campaign. They can target specific groups of users, like users that are searching for the subject of the site. Radio, TV and print do not have these advantages.
Pay Per Click is a common and useful technique to advertise a website. Many of the large companies that offer Pay Per Click services are Google, Yahoo and Bing. Companies of all sizes use Pay Per Click as part of an overall Internet marketing campaign.
